Sherwood Williams currently serves as the Renaissance Academy’s (formerly the Anderson County Alternative School) Social Skills Facilitator & In-School Suspension Coordinator in Anderson South Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from West Virginia University. He has over 20 years of experience working with at-risk populations. In his current role he supports 5 individual school districts in the County of Anderson South Carolina, presenting valuable information to students both one on one and in groups about the importance of social skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he experienced firsthand high crime neighborhoods and the disparaging impact of hopelessness in those communities and understands the importance of restoring hope to individuals to decrease dropout rates in those communities.
In addition to his involvement with the Renaissance Academy, Mr. Williams is also passionate about helping individuals make better choices in their relationships through The Restoring Integrity Project, of which he is the Founder and program’s Director. The project is a certified domestic violence program designed to help individuals that have either been convicted of criminal domestic violence or facing charges of CDV.
