Natalie Gouge, McDowell County Schools Director of Student Services, has served as an educator for twenty-five years. After graduating from ASU in 1990 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and in 1992 with her Master of Arts in Reading Education K-12, she began her career as a classroom teacher. Natalie was awarded Teacher of the Year for Old Fort Elementary in 2000. Natalie moved into an role as assistant principal at West Marion Elementary School while working on her Master of Arts Add-on degree in School Administration at WCU. She then became Principal of West Marion Elementary School and served as McDowell County Principal of the Year in 2012. Her principalship continued as she moved to the high school and became McDowell High School’s Principal in 2013. She now serves all McDowell County Schools and students as Director of Student Services. Natalie is dedicated to community service and is a member of Marion Rotary, serves as a board member for CareNet, YMCA and Hope 29:11. Natalie is also an adult leader for the Friends of Rachel Club at McDowell High School.
