Born in the “Windy City” of Chicago, Illinois and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Morticia Brooks-Taylor is a proud wife and mother of two daughters and one amazing grandson. Mrs. Taylor earned her B.S. in Elementary Education at the University of Memphis where she was also selected as a Leadership Scholar in the prestigious Memphis Learning Centered Leadership Program, (MLCLP). It was here that she earned her Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Policy Studies, along with being among the first graduating class to receive Tennessee’s new Instructional Leadership License in School Administration and Supervision. Mrs. Brooks-Taylor earned her Ed.S. from Union University, where she is currently studying to complete her doctoral studies in School Reform. A “Forever” Educator, Mrs. Brooks-Taylor works in Shelby County Schools as a Manager within the Department of Student Affairs.
