Lynn Bowens Turner is employed in the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and also volunteers as a grants consultant and research associate in the Psychology Department.   Mrs. Turner has over 25 years of experience in state government  and higher education.  Before her current employment, she was the Director of Dropout Prevention at the Florida Department of Education (FDOE).  She continues her work in dropout prevention, family and community engagement, and student success through various roles.  Presently, she is a graduate student researcher, a planning team member of FDOE’s Educational Strategies and Student Engagement Institute, a reading mentor at a local public school, and a mayor-appointed Advisory Board member of the Palmer Munroe Teen Center.  Mrs. Turner has taught on the collegiate level and has presented research and best practices at national, state and local conferences and workshops.
