Julie Powell is in her third year as principal of the Rutherford Opportunity Center. Mrs. Powell is a 23-year veteran of Rutherford County Schools serving as: East Rutherford High School EC teacher and multi-sport coach (1996-2010), Assistant Principal at East Rutherford High School (2010-2015) and Chase High School (2015-2017), Principal Rutherford Opportunity Center (2017 to present).
She is very passionate about serving the students at the alternative school and works tirelessly to ensure students receive a diploma and are prepared for life after high school.
She has a BA in Physical Education, a Master’s in Special Education, and a Master’s in School Administration. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and especially delights in spending time with her three teenage children.
