James R. Hodge is currently the Dropout Prevention Specialist for Fayette County Public Schools Pupil Personnel Department. Prior to coming to the Department of Pupil Personnel, Mr. Hodge served in various roles inclusive of Administrative Dean (FCPS), McKinney-Vento Liaison (FCPS), and the Minority Retention Coordinator/Academic Advisor at Morehead State University. Serving ten years’ teaching experience in Jefferson County Public Schools gave Mr. Hodge the foundation in education he needed to achieve success in his position as a Guidance Counselor for the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

Mr. Hodge obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History from Morehead State University. In addition to his bachelor degree, he received his Master of Arts in Education from Bellarmine University, Master of Arts in Counseling from Indiana University Southeast, and Master of Art in Educational Leadership.

 

With each position that Mr. Hodge has held, he has gained valuable experience working with the community to better serve students as well as the institution in which he has been employed. Furthermore, his affiliations with the American School Counselors Association, the Jefferson County Teacher Association, and Kentucky Education Association have allowed Mr. Hodge outlets to further build on his knowledge and experience of working with the community.  Being affiliated with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has helped Mr. Hodge gain valuable knowledge of working with and being a part of a community of people working towards the same goal.
