Connie Jones is a native of Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC.  Connie is a first-generation college graduate in her family, a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Elementary Education and Liberty University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling/Human Relations. She also completed the requirements and obtained a Career Development Facilitator Instructor Certification in 2006. Connie has been in the field of education since 1994 and has a diverse background in education. Connie has been a self-employed Piano Teacher, Christian Private School Elementary Teacher, and has worked most of her career in higher education as a College Career Counselor/ Career Educator. Connie has also had the opportunity and enjoyed teaching as a College Adjunct Professor in both a 4-year university and 2-year community college.  In 2016, Connie made a career change into public education at Loris High School in Loris, SC as the GEAR UP Graduation Coach. In 2017, Connie assumed the responsibilities as the At-Risk Coordinator/Specialist and currently continues to serve in this rewarding career. Connie has worked extremely hard developing a successful Peer Mentor program at Loris High School and has branched out into the local colleges to build a college mentor program in her high school. The mentor programs are used as an intervention for students who struggle academically and with poor attendance. Currently, Connie is working on developing a scholarship program for her school.

Connie works hard to fulfill her goals as the At-Risk Coordinator/Specialist. She strives to be a person of excellence, and to be a valuable employee with her school and district. She is honored to be an employee for Horry County Schools/Loris High School. Connie defines her role as an educator as a great “Calling”.

Connie is an active member in her community and sits on Boards and Committees in the Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC area.  She is also active in her church music program as a choir member and has been a former church pianist. In her down time, she enjoys the beach, walking, cooking, reading, plundering in antique stores, and spending time with her husband, Todd and their precious niece Kaylee Grace. Connie also loves her fur baby “Lucy”. Connie credits all her success to Jesus Christ and gives Him the glory for all things. To God Be the Glory!
