Dominique Cash currently serves as a Truancy Attendance Teacher for the Shelby County School District
in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, she is responsible for enforcing the compulsory attendance law by
investigating the causes of the truancy, completing evaluations, providing interventions, and making in
house and outside referrals to school departments and social service agencies that can provide
assistance when needed. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in
Education. She has 34 years of experience working with children and families as a mental health
counselor with Southeast Mental Health Center, lead caseworker with the Department of Children’s
Services, First Grade Teacher with Legacy Memphis City Schools, Lead Caseworker and Coordinator of
Parent Involvement and Service Learning with Legacy Memphis City Schools Alternative Programs.
