Biography
Dionne Culp is a Dropout Prevention and Recovery Specialist for the Kansas City Public Schools. She has worked for KCPS for fourteen years in addition to five years of volunteering and engagement prior to her employment with KCPS. Dionne is a graduate of Donnelly College with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and is currently seeking a master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University (WGU). Simultaneously, she is seeking the National Dropout Prevention Specialist from the National Dropout Prevention Center (NDPC).
Dionne has a passion to provide good, ethical leadership to engage students, parents, and the community in education to ensure students are supported as well as guided towards graduation and post-secondary education. She understands the impact education has on the lives of students, but also on the future of their communities and society. She has worked in numerous leadership roles in areas such as School Culture, Attendance Monitoring, Family and Community Engagement, College Readiness, Student Leadership, and School Leadership Teams. Dionne has project management, case management, and team management experience that she uses to provide excellence in service to the students and the community of KCPS. She lives by her personal motto, “In all that you do, do it with excellence”.
