Mr. Robert Sainz, as the manager of more than $100 million in public agency grant funds for the city of Los Angeles, has been lauded for seeking, encouraging or creating social change throughout his 20 year career in public service. Mr. Sainz was instrumental in the collaborative development of the LAUSD and City of Los Angeles Partnership to reverse the district’s dropout rate. A coalition of support from law enforcement, business, professional counselors and a network of intervention programs have significantly decreased dropout and increased student recovery. Mr. Sainz also served the city as Executive Director of its Youth Opportunity Movement. He received his B.A. from UC Santa Cruz and his MPA from Columbia University.
