Larry Jones is a 1981 graduate of Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. He also attended Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina. After graduating from Marymount College, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he found employment at a chemical company. He moved back to Salina, Kansas where he was employed as a counselor for Heart of America Sports Camps. Later moved on to Racine, Wisconsin where he was employed with Big Brothers/Big Sisters as a Youth Worker & Coordinator.
He was an Assistant Basketball Coach at a Community College called Highland Community College located in Highland, Kansas. Later, moved on to be a Family Preservation Specialist for Heart of America Family Services in Kansas City, Kansas. Where he was a Family Advocate for families trying to keep custody of there kids. He would testify in their behalf to Family Court if parents were fit to gain full custody. He was able to set up programs that provided clothes, food, and furniture to needy families. He worked with a non-profit company that works with high-risk youth, and kids that were in the states’ custody, called Gillis Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1996, he matriculated to the Kansas City Public Schools. Larry’s role was a Parent / School / Liaison. He held many positions as Attendance Specialist, Attendance Analyst, Dropout/Attendance Specialist, and now currently Dropout Prevention Recovery Specialist.
He was born and raised in New York City (Harlem). Married Lisa Greene-Jones July 19, 1997. Has three kids Patrick, Priscilla, Janie, and four grand kids all boys. Currently residing in Raytown, Missouri.
