Kitty Johnson is currently coordinator of Connected Counseling for the Saint Paul School District. As a counselor on special assignment, she helps counselors across the district learn and implement best practices to help increase student achievement for ALL students. Before coming to this position, she was as a high school counselor for twelve years at Johnson Senior High School on the east side of St. Paul. While there, she helped develop Small Learning Communities and was chair person for the Freshman Academy. As former president of the Minnesota School Counselors Association and as a current counselor in Saint Paul, Kitty is fortunate to work in a progressive school district that is transforming school counselors and school counseling programs. The outcomes for both: help increase students’ academic achievements.
