Gayle McGrane is a principal at two schools in the Forest Lake Area Schools, Minnesota. The Forest Lake Area Learning Center is an alternative school for students in grades six through twelve and is viewed as a model program in the state. She has over 30 years experience in the fields of child/adolescent mental health and education, and has been published in both educational and social work publications. She has presented in several venues on various topics relating to young people who qualify as “at risk.” Her current work in building authentic relationships with youth at risk is based in her social work background and applied daily in her role as a principal. Ms. McGrane is the author of the upcoming NDPC monograph, “Building Authentic Relationships With Youth At Risk.”
