Christel Cato is in her 19th year of teaching, having held many roles in her schools. She has taught intermediate school English and Social Studies and then moved to high school resource where she taught and coached varsity competitive cheer. Mrs. Cato moved to teaching at a psychiatric residential treatment facility until they dissolved the program. This led her to the Juvenile Detention Center where she has been teaching the juvenile inmates for 3 years. She feels her calling has been fulfilled in the steps/moves she has made along the way as they all taught her about the various ACES in her students’ lives and her desire to work with the most at-risk students!
