DeAnna Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics from Shorter University, Rome, Georgia, in 1994.  She completed her Master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics at the University of West Georgia in 1998.  In 2006, she graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee with her Educational Specialists degree (EdS) in Educational Administration and Supervision.

 

Most of Ms. Williams’ 23-year career in education has been working in low-income schools with students in poverty.  Being a veteran math teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal (all at the high school level) has helped prepare Ms. Williams for her current position as director of Northwest Georgia Learning Resources System (GLRS), located in Rome, Georgia.  Northwest GLRS is a regional agency that provides training and resources to school district personnel, parents of students with disabilities, and other interested individuals to support the achievement, graduation rate, and post-secondary success of students with disabilities.
